July 19, 20214 yr Hello, We bought a second hand KTM a couple of years ago from a bereaved woman who had two bikes and needed just the one for obvious reasons. The seller - totally legit, I know her from charitable work - didn't have the battery key and promised to send it but could never find it. We paid £800. That wasn't a big problem until now. The control unit closes down when the charge reduces from full to almost full which I guess means the battery needs renewing. That would cost £500 according to a Swindon retailer who for reasons that I won't divulge, I'd prefer to avoid. Has anyone got themselves into a similar situation or am I the only one feeling foolish? Three options: - removing the battery without a key - deciding whether to buy a new battery or cutting our losses - getting a recell done? Any advice greatly appreciated. We're in Gloucestershire.
