Tessera: Unlocking Heterogeneous GPUs through Kernel-Granularity Disaggregation

Disaggregation maps parts of an AI workload to different types of GPUs, offering a path to utilize modern heterogeneous GPU clusters. However, existing solutions operate at a coarse granularity and are tightly coupled to specific model architectures, leaving much room for performance improvement. This paper presents Tessera, the first kernel disaggregation system to improve performance and cost efficiency on heterogeneous GPUs for large model inference.

A very clever lad that.

My eldest grandson would love something like that. I might show him this later today when I visit them.

Here is another similar project, but rather larger and with RC control. Really nice design. I would say the Youtuber (Tom) could easily sell these planes if he had a mind to - especially this one:

The Universal Constraint Engine: Emergent Neuromorphic Architectures from Declarative Constraint Rules

We introduce the Universal Constraint Engine (UCE), a system for generating emergent multi-state architectures from declarative constraint rules over conserved quantities. Unlike conventional neural network architectures that rely on learned weights, gradient descent, and massive training corpora, UCE derives computational behaviors -- including memory, logic, hysteresis, and oscillation -- directly from symbolic constraints without any training phase.
