March 5, 20233 yr I have home insurance with AA which includes theft cover for 1 ebike when away from home up to an agreed value. Can't say if it is any good as I have never made a claim What's your insurance stories/recommendations regarding your ebikes. Some quotes i had were eye watering
March 6, 20233 yr Barclays stand alone - covers all your bikes https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/bike-insurance.40420/#post-629178
March 6, 20233 yr Author sneggysteve, that was brilliant. I just took out a policy with Barclay. Cheers Buddy:)
March 6, 20233 yr Are the above bikes all 250W? If not I think you might struggle to make a claim? If not and I can 'stealth' cover my 1500W £1k build then I might need to look at the options suggested ;-) Thanks for posting.
March 6, 20233 yr Both our Motus bikes are included on our house insurance. It covers them at home and whilst out. For the latter they must be locked to a secure fixing.
March 6, 20233 yr Re house insurance, do they know they are specifically 'ebikes' that could well not be street legal? Has anyone made a successful claim on any of the above type of policies and gotten paid?
March 6, 20233 yr I just took out a policy with Barclay. Can I ask how much ?. Interested in this myself, and from dipping into to get an approximate quote it was coming out at £23/month on a £6500 bike. Which I think it pretty ridiculous, given my house contents insurance is under £100/year for £20K of cover.(or it might be £50k, i forget the exact figure)
