May 15, 20232 yr Ive just finished my conversion tonight. I had tried to convert a Whyte Mountain bike but as I was told here (but ignored and tried anyway), it had a flared bottom bracket so was never going to fit. So I dragged my old Marin hybrid out of retirement and the fit went beautifully, finished about half hour ago. ....(except fiddling with display which i need to google instructions) Just had a quick ride round the block and its bloody lovely .... except .... As soon as I stop pedalling and free wheel I get a clunk , clunk, clunk... Any idea's ? It is a brand new unit now 2km on the clock. Any help would be much appreciated. Rik
May 15, 20232 yr I wouldn't panic just yet. See if it goes away after a bit of riding. I think somebody else had that fairly recently.
May 16, 20232 yr So I dragged my old Marin hybrid out of retirement If the noise occurs only when freewheeling then it can come from the freehub. Woosh makes a very good point as when you're free-wheeling nothing inside the motor is moving. Out of interest, when you took the Marin 'out of retirement', did you test ride it before fitting the TSDZ2?
May 16, 20232 yr Author Thanks for the replies. No I didn't ride it, tyres and tubes were gone and needed replacing and started fitting motor before I bought them. Thanks ever so much will have a better look tonight on the stand but guess it is the freehub.
