February 18, 20251 yr Author Just for the update. I sourced a similar cable but without the brakes wire. 5 pin flat at the controller end and 5 pin julet to the lcd. Before installing I did the same connectivity test and lo and behold, the red and blue are not connected at all! Installed the cable and the first thing I noticed was that the lcd power switch now works to turn the bike and the screen on and off. Test ride and everything works perfectly. The absence of the brake sensor doesn't seem to affect the operation at all as the motor cuts out when you cease pedaling anyway. So thanks everyone for your inputs.
