There are still plenty of Freego bikes around here. (They were based in Southampton I think). We have a lady in our SITP group who is 83 this year, and still rides hers. The man from Juicy Bikes supplied me with a frame a while ago. I think that was from Jobo, and it was very well finished. I built the bike but did not have room in the end.

Yes we were based in Southampton. The bikes had a lot of issues, I was there for two years as a Director and major shareholder. I tried to help but in the end I resigned, they eventually went out of business.

All the best, David

The Circe Helios is a tandem 20" but it is clever as one can add a rear cargo deck in place of the second rider position.

Like any cargo bike they are not cheap , they have a lowish step over and battery placement isn't an issue.

That looks useful. Looks as though it could easily transport the coffin of a slightly under average sized person, which is of course the only reasonable benchmark for cargo bike effectiveness. 16" wheel at the back for lower CofG? Save the coffin tipping over and shortarse wotsisname falling out, when stopped and leaning to one side at traffc lights.

There was a very interesting but rickety looking expanding cargo bike Kickstarted or Ingogogoed, looked a space saver. Other times it was a normal length bike. Dutch. But not enough room for a coffin AFAIR.

Surly this tops the Guerny Cargo Coffin Benchmark leaderboard. And it weighs only 16.8kg - my 20" wheeled Dahon BBS01B converted folding bike could drag this uphill no problem, if the dead perp wasn't too fat.

Hitch replaces the problematically limiting QR skewer too, nice.
