Carrera display problem

I bought a Carrera Crossfire e bike in 2016. Only real problem has been a replacement battery.. Now the display has gone off. The battery seems to be charged OK. I believe the display unit is faulty, but I am not sure how to check. The unit has a USB input - when I plug in there is still no display - so this may confirm this is as a display issue.

 

As this is quite old, the displays I have seen on ebay look rather different. Can I use a different display unit?

 

Comments would be very welcome.

    I don't know about the Crossfire, but some displays have their own internal battery rather than relying on power from the main battery. Usually easily replaced.
