November 2, 200916 yr Hi. Has anyone done a wheel circumference as I have different readings from laser and from tape measure(how pathetic am I!) My last computer was stolen so bought a Velomann 16(sorry flecc bargain at eEbay £17.00) I reckon on 2075mm. Can anyone help please.
November 2, 200916 yr Hi, I measured the wheel circumference on my 905se sport while sitting on the bike and rolling it as close to one tire revolution I could. With a tire pressure of 60psi and my 15 stone weight I got 2025mm. I guess the result will vary a bit depending on the tire pressure and the weight of the rider. Not sure how much difference that will make though. /H-B
November 2, 200916 yr I seem to remember sheldon browns website has the relevant numbers for many different types of cycle computers based on tyre size.
November 2, 200916 yr I have a 905se city and the circumference without me on it is 2053mm. When I put my 16st on it, the circumference is 2034mm, which is the figure I use for my wired cycle computer. A note of caution to anyone thinking of buying a wireless cycle computer for use in the countryside. Electric fences used by farmers to enclose their livestock can give inaccurate readings when using wireless computers. According to my former wireless computer I did 4012 miles one day, and I was doing 19 mph whilst stationary.
