Specialize Vado SL 4.0 ST - handlebar switch

Featured Replies

The switch unit on the handlebar which controls boost levels is only partly working.

The + and - switches (which look like a rocker switch but are separate buttons) aren't working but the button on top to go directly to full power still works.

I haven't yet tested the walk mode button underneath the switch cluster.

Has anyone encountered this?

If so did you solve it?

Specialized do not list this as a part on their web site.

Is this the one:

The switch is also listed separately here:

Seeing it's a separate plugin, it may be worth unplugging in and replugging it and making sure it is really well pushed home.

Possibly a squirt of electrical plug cleaner (eg Servisol) while they are separated as well.

Probably won't help, but should only take a few seconds.

Update: the switch has started working again.

I tentatively conclude that it was damp in the switch.

Probably a genuine use for WD40.

I will investigate getting some spray in there.
