no expert just a wannabe sceptic , but i suspect the above is little more than a lot of solvent and a bit of wax..

 

What needs waterproofing??? - for leather dubbin is pretty 'natural' afaik well as long as you consider plant and animal products natural? - and it works ;) just needs a bit of annual maintenance..
