    Trek powerfly+5

If the first couple of weeks and 200 miles with my Powerfly+ 9 are anything to go by, you won't be disappointed. It felt great on the test ride, and was a better fit for me than all the other ebikes I tried. So I bought the dealer's stock bike, which fortunately had the exact spec I was...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Thanks for the info - I'll check out those threads. Next time I try the DL, I'll make a whole day of it, and attempt to get a lot further north. It was certainly a pleasurable and very peaceful place to be.

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Out for a longish ride today (well, long for me, anyway!), to stretch the legs of my fairly new Trek Powerfly - 200 miles old. Wanted to try the Downs Link, and picked up the trail at its southern end, on the western edge of Shoreham by Sea. In spite of the overnight rain, which was still...

Fell off my shiny new ebike.. but why?

At least you can blame the weather then! A big gust came along and blew me over...

I'd keep the bikes too - they sound pretty good!

Hello from the Sunny South Coast.

I bought mine from Beyond Mountain Bikes near Cranleigh. Found them more or less by accident, the Trek had simply the best fit and feel for me, having tried various ebikes over the last few months. Loving it so far!

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

Yes, that's exactly what happened the first time I joined them. Ended up riding a good few miles more than I'd normally tackle by myself. Good company, conversation, and plently of mutual encouragement.

Thanks Flud - sound advice. I've recently discovered a similarly-aged and like-minded group of riders, via the U3A network. U3A = University of the Third Age, which is aimed at retired and semi-retired people over the age of 55. A branch near me organises a whole host of special interest...

Hello from the Sunny South Coast.

Hi Stewart I live not far from Worthing, and collected my new Trek Powerfly+ 9 hardtail at the weekend. Only had time for a short ride yesterday, but loving it so far! Glad you like your Trek, and good to see another one around. With some friends in the Shoreham and Brighton area, I often...

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

Thanks Phill - point taken! Yup, I'll certainly progress gently with venturing up - and down - the hillier off-road stuff, rather than jumping in at the deep end. Forest trails, tracks and bridleways will keep me busy for a fair while yet : )

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

Bought my first ebike approx ten years ago, as a commuting machine. It did that job well, and improved my fitness level to the extent that I switched to a conventional hybrid/road bike. That's been great to have as well, and fitness levels have gradually improved several notches further - my...

Ok, many thanks for letting me know.

Hmm... Intrigued. Looks an interesting bike. I'm a nat's under 5' 8", and the frame size is pretty close to my pushbike (50cm frame), so this would probably be a good fit. Whereabouts in the UK are you?

Reliable bikes for couple in mid 60s, realistic range of 40+ miles

Thanks EddiePJ - appreciate you letting me know. My wife's still favouring the upright Dutch style of bike, but family stuff got in the way of us taking it any further just yet. Will be back on track soon...

Reliable bikes for couple in mid 60s, realistic range of 40+ miles

@KudosDave: Chinapig? Ah, a track by a fave band of mine - Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band. It's also what I probably have to break open, to access the saved pennies inside! Thanks for your suggestion of LEBC. A worthy idea for a good day out. Have tried a few more bikes recently...
