Waterproofing Electronics - This may help

Looks fantastic stuff. As I commute all year by my ebike, this might help me get through the wet winter.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Well, I got my wheel back yesterday and installed it today after work. I've taken on board all your advice as I fitted it. Strangely, during a test ride it was quieter than its ever been before, even when new. Hopefully it will stay like that.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Thanks everyone for your advice. Having ridden cycles all my life, I am quite surprised how temperamental ebikes can be. I will give serious thought to your tips to ensure water stays away. I may even give up riding when its heavy rain. Thanks for the pics Nealh.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

TBH I can't say for sure how it goes until I get it back and have a look

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Any chance you could upload a picture sometime to see how you did that? I'd like to do the same.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

My cable has always gone down the fork where it connects halfway down, then continues down into the wheel. I've just looked at the pictures on the website and they are the same. The connection seem quite tight and it has always been dry in there anytime I looked.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

I do basic cycle maintenance such as brakes etc. I know little about electrics. I live in Glasgow and it rarely stops raining here. I do cycle most days throughout the year and only move over to a regular cycle in the snow and ice because I have spiked tyres for it.

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Yes, it's always under a shelter both at work and home. The only time it's getting wet is when I'm riding in the rain

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

An update to my wheel. At considerable cost I sent the wheel back to woosh to check it out. I've just discovered an email from them asking for me to pay an extra £20 because there was considerable water ingress and I must have used a hose or pressure washer on it, or stored it in the rain when...

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

It feels almost exactly like that and is noisy pulling backwards. Trust my luck. Probably the most expensive fault. Thanks I appreciate everyone's help. It means I can get it fixed quickly

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Thanks, I've checked every connection and even stripped the wires out of the frame to make sure they werent damaged. Thanks Nealh, that was a great help. I had always wondered about that white wire connected to the grey and black. Sadly though, the problem is as bad as ever and my bike is...

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Opened it up and checked what I could and it all seemed fine but problem still as bad. I wish it came with a wiring diagram as there are a lot of unused wires mixed in. Will try again tomorrow

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

A good point I've had the controller disconnected a few days ago. I had to remove all the wiring to have a poorly welded joint repaired

    Big Bear Hub Jamming

Hi, The latest of a million problems I've been having with the Santana Big Bear. This seems like the most serious. Travelling to work today, when the motor engages in the front wheel it shudders noisily and squeals as though its jammed and engaging power breaks it free. No problem when I'm...

    Stuttering Woosh BB

Sorry in the delay in replying. I've been without a pc for a few weeks. Thanks for the advice, I never found out the exact cause but since bringing it indoors for a couple of days, and spraying WD40 around the electrics, its not happened since.

    Stuttering Woosh BB

Hi, Can anyone suggest what may be wrong with my Big Bear? Starting this morning on my way to work and continuing on my return home. My bike seems to stutter when I'm pedalling. The only I can describe it as similar to when a car is running out of fuel. Although its not too severe just now, I'm...

Aldi puncture repair canister.... First try!

I got one of those wee cans from The Range for £1.70 awhile ago. I used it about 3 weeks ago on the roadside and it worked a treat. It didnt fully inflate the tyre but it was enough to get me home. Unfortunately, I cant find any more to replace that can.

comments from strangers when out on your ebike....

Just home from my daily 20 mile round trip commute. I had to go against gusts of up to 45mph at times due to this storm thats battering Britain. I'd say about 60 or 70% of the cyclists I normally see cycling into Glasgow were missing having taken the car or bus instead. I think they were all...

comments from strangers when out on your ebike....

Had the thats cheating comment from a few people in work. All of them travel in by car and are more than half my age. A neighbour who is a lycra clad asked me for a go on it. On getting off said it was the best thing ever and would love one.

    Anyone Else Here Into Rubber?

Thats a good point Gringo, I hadnt thought of that. Unfortunately, I don't think there is any way to upgrade the BB to rear discs.
