What is the best electric bike people can recommend to get with the £1000 cycle to work budget. The bike would need to do an 18 mile round commute to work. The ability to modify the speed restriction would also be nice. Neil

Just Change the chain Why do people run bikes with worn out chains. New one cost peanuts and I expect mine to last about 3,000 miles. I have a chain ware measure and change when it says its worn out. £12 is nothing for 3,000 miles cycling.

We are lucky I expect 2,500 miles out of my chain and rear cog. I will change the front and drive cog at 5,000 miles. At £16 for rear cog and chain I am not complaining it dirt cheep compared to a derailleur setup.
