I have been doing a bit of research on 18650 cells. I would like to ask those that have experience on these packages, what do they think about the different models available.
I see there are two different levels:
The cheap ones, say Samsung 22P or 26F, and the expensive ones, say Panasonic PD / PF and Samsung 29E.
For example, em3ev builds his triangle batteries with 22P (the cheap one) and with 29E (the expensive one; also the 20R, which is lower capacity but higher discharge rate).
But then when I check this comparison:
http://www.dampfakkus.de/akkuvergleich.php?akku1=99&akku2=498&akku3=353&akku4=120&akku5=73&akku6=106
it seems the 26F cope pretty well with the expensive ones, even at 5A (and also at 2A and 3A). I guess 5A is already too much for the 26F.
What is the real world experience with 26F? Do they have a shorter life cycle than the expensive ones? do they sag? If they behave reasonably, it seems the 26F are well suited for a big package with relatively moderate requirements of discharge rate.
Opinions?
