Advice please on MBK Ax-ion City Bikes with Yamaha motors

One of these bikes, supposedly in very good condition, is being offered in my region for 125 euros. I have done a search on google (where is search on this new site ?) but cannot find anything. Comments, feedback, opinions, links would be most appreciated.

These were actually the Yamaha XP26 model, sold as MBK in France in parallel to the Yamahas, a strange marketing arrangement. Original equivalent price around €900. I am speaking of 1999 to around 2002 now, though perhaps a bit later, so very old, and I doubt the NiMh batteries are any good now, unless they've been replaced. Spares will be a major problem of course, as will be the correct batteries.

The Yamaha system was quite powerful, sometimes described as moped like in character. Photo below for either brand:
