Today we did a return journey from Lake, on the Isle of Wight, to Gurnard, via Cowes - about 17 miles each way. It's fairly flat, consisting mainly of cycleway (former railway). Remember I also weigh around 300lbs and carry lots of tools.

On the way there, I used only one bar on the battery indicator. I averaged 7-8mph. I stayed on assist level 1 (of 5), only infrequently went to level 2 and hardly ever used the throttle.

We pretty much just turned around and came home then.

On the way back, I used a further two bars on the battery indicator. I averaged 9-10mph and never used the pedals.

I use the throttle all the time on my Big Bear. I just slowly pedal air to fool people into thinking i am cycling. I am usually pulling a trailer well loaded up with junk. On roads, tracks and across fields. Big Bear reaches parts other vehicles don’t. A round trip of 2 miles to my recyle centre takes about 15 minutes. Who needs a car. Go green on a Big Bear ReCycle Bike.
