Battery Knackered?

The original phylion battery that came with the Ezee Forza.... it wasn't great to start with and has been sitting for a good few months unused..... charged her up the other night and went for a ride...... Nothing, Zilch! Not even 1 yard out of her.

Under no load (ie: driven wheel off the ground) she will power the motor till the cows come home but the minute you sit your arse on the bike and crank the throttle she dies a sudden death.

Is this battery now Totally knackered?

I'm afraid so, they really should be recharged every two months or so if left idle, three months absolute maximum.

I'm sorry there's no other solution but a new battery now.

Oh well.... I didn't use that one anyway, the other phylion still going ok. Tell me Flecc, is it possible / economically viable to re-cell the duff battery and, if so, where does one source the new cells?

I'm afraid not. The problem is that these batteries are constantly being developed, the cells and the internal management circuitry always changing, so there's no assured compatibility.

They are also potentially dangerous, so I doubt we'll see recelling for them in the near future.

At least you still have the one ok, so you can afford to wait in case prices go down again after the exchange rates improve.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, you might be able to get some cells and matching BMS which fit the case as some of us have done with a Ping or Yesa battery. You can usually find these on ebay.
