Better stop lurking and get building!

Been lurking and learning for a while now. Used to cycle everywhere many many moons ago but then found these 4 wheeled things with an engine could get me to blackpool a lot quicker!

Still cycle now, but mainly rides out with my kids so no where near the distance I used to cover. Have cycled to work in the past when I was a little err trimmer.. Now having a bit of a health kick and I think cycling to work would be a massive bonus being 9miles each way but would like to do it in less than the hour *cough* and the rest! *cough* it took me about a month ago!

Thinking about converting my Specialised Crosstrail so will get a post started in the kit section soon...

That's what I'm hoping... Or at least get the average speed in to double digits!!!... I mean I know it was windy when I last tried to cycle in (borrows the nearest cyclists excuse book!)....

My average "not trying hard" speed is 23 km/h (14.3 m.p.h.) so it can be done!

If I can get to that not long after starting I will be a very happy person!... Just need to find a kit suitable for a 'wide' load

I have a 8-11-mile commute, depending on the daylight, weather & my mood. I can do the undulating 8-mile run in a fraction under half an hour on my tweaked Oxygen & even on my converted Orbit, so it can be done.

30mins is the goal.. Certainly beats sitting in the car for an hour, yes even in this weather!!! Unfortunately looks like my weight might limit my choices of kit, which I guess I expected but still sucks a little

My ride on Monday was in 2C as I left Warwick, but by the time I'd climbed to Kenilworth it was frosty and rather nippy! Still, I had decent gear on and the roads weren't slippy, and it was vastly better than sitting in my tin box.

Think you'll find most kits will suit your needs(probably not the big direct drive ones though)

Well I've got this thread running already for advice.. Just need to find somewhere that sells the MXUS motor d8veh suggested.
