Hi guys

Not been on here for a while and my trusty Bafang 201rpm code 10 motor is still going strong.

I plan on making another for a mate and have specified a BAFANG BPM CODE 10 - 201 RPM
- 26@ kit.

They have replied back stating there is no such thing and told me to recheck mine has a 10 stamped on it !!!!!

They are saying code 10 is 328 RPM, code 11 is 201 RPM ??

Anyone clarify this ?

What would the outcome be on steep hills with a 328 RPM. ?

Confused

Cherrs

None of them are correct.
Here's all the info on BPMs:

You're right: Suppliers pretend not to have a clue about Code numbers, but they do understand RPM. This gives them the chance to send a motor one or two codes up or down without you being able to pin them down. EVassemble sell a 270 rpm one, if that's what you want. They seem to have got better with their customer service according to reports on ES.

No load speed is given by the following equation:

Speed = RPM/201 x 15 x (wheel dia)/26 x (actual battery voltage)/(nominal motor voltage)

In that formula, for actual battery voltage, I use 40v for a 36v battery, 48v for 12S lipos, and 53v for a 48v battery.

Be aware that a 36v 201 rpm goes the same speed as 48v 201 rpm one, although a 26v 201 rpm one will go 33% faster at 48v.

Never heard of that 270 rpm motor. Are they Chinese ??

270x15x26x 40/36 = 117000

Something wrong with my maths. Lol.

Sorry, they've changed their listings since I last looked. Theynow have only the 350w at 280 rpm and the 500w at 340rpm.
Bafang 350W BPM Permanent Magnet Sensorless Motor [BPM350] - $119.00 : EV Assemble, LiFePO4, Electric Bike Conversion Kit, EV Charger, BMS, EV Components, EV Parts, All for EV!

Yes, they're Chinese. I've never seen BPMs for sale in the UK, and European ones are ridiculously expensive. You used to be able to get a whole 350w kit from Alien, but they've dropped it from their listings. i'm surprised that they didn't change it to the "250w" Babang CST motor, which would have been legal. They could've fitted the same motor into their Aurora, which would've made that legal too.

I have paid and was told to wait for a code 10/201 RPM but now i am getting the reply as stated in my first post, i presume my only option is order the 201 RPM and fingers crossed.
