Bosses for Big Bear Front Vs

Hi all

I am wanting to install V brakes on the front of my woosh big bear.

They aren't a standard fitting so I was told to get an m10 thread boss so I bought these

They are slightly too big and won't screw in.

Am I going wrong somewhere.?

Brake bosses are never standard. Your best bet is your LBS, who will probably have a box of assorted ones for you to try. What make is the fork?

I took it to my LBS but they said they didn't have anything and couldn't find anything on the net.

Your lbs is not much good, the top gun fork already has bosses brazed on, just needs some boss bolts. They cost about 30p each.

you see the silver allen bolts on the brake arms in the picture below?

You can fit something like this £9 Shimano V-brake which comes with the bolts, no need to buy anything else. One thing to remember, you need to true your wheel a little more often with v-brakes.

Those attaching bolts arrived but they are way too small

Ask Andy @ Woosh. Also, check the size of the bolts on the rear brakes. They should also fit the front bosses.

Andy says they are 8mm. Hopefully third time lucky!
