I've received the following from David Henshaw, editor of A to B magazine:
"In the next A to B we're publishing an article on converting a Lafree to Li-ion, using an aero-modeller 5.8Ah cell pack. It's working well, giving nearly 18 miles".
That compares favourably with the typical 20 miles from the original 6.5 Ah NiMh battery when new, and may be a better option than recelling the NiMh, given the poor quality of many of the available cells these days.
