Derby cycle battery charger

Hi does any one know what the wiring layout is as i was gonig to convert a 42v 2 wire charger for a derby cycles battery until i removed the socket in the battery

4 pin xlr socket

Pin 1 white wire
Pin 2 resistor on own
Pin 3 black and resistor
Pin 4 red on own

I don't know your specific charger, but I doubt you can do what you're trying to do.

Most of these chargers fitted with multi-pin charge plugs/sockets use some communication with the charger - to turn-off the charger in a failure event, like overheating or over-charging. Some even use a hand-shaking routine before starting to charge to ensure you're only using the makers' own recommended charger.

More than the basic two-pin + and - volts connected usually means you're stuck with either the manufacturers charger, or one that's been specifically adapted by a third party to work... ebikebatteries.co.uk do some modified ones. There's a 4-pin Derby/Kalkhoff one there if that's what you're looking for.
