Disconnect battery before turning bike off questions

Hello.

Just get a Electronic Bicycle with bafang rear engine.

I have read the manual and it say you must be sure to turn the bike off before you remove the battery.
I forgot to do it recently.
What could be wrong og get damaged in this way?

It was so easy to forget to turn the display off first.

Do try to remember to switch off the bike before you remove the battery, but I wouldn't worry too much if you don't.

I highly doubt you'll damage anything. I've done it loads of times on mine

You can get a voltage spike that resets your LCD to default settings. I've seen thata couple of times.

What's more important is to make sure that the battery is switched off when you reconnect it.

The volt spike is not so hard that it can take damage to the electronic on the bike?

I will remember to turn the bike off before i take out the battery next time, when i mount it in bike it always off
