Electric Kit

Professionaly fitted by the Electric Wheel Company in August 2010.

The nano™ is an electric bike kit suitable for many bikes. Using our small, quiet and powerful nano™ hub motor gives the rider the extra assistance that takes the effort out of hills and headwinds, enabling you to arrive at your destination without the sweat!

Lithium Polymer battery. The latest and best available battery technology - delivers highest capacity for lowest weight and size. 'Frog' style battery ( 5Ahr) mounted on the controller attached to the seatpost.

Battery charger. Full charge of the battery will take between 2-4 hours, dependant on the capacity of the battery. Charging takes proportionally less time if you have used less of the battery capacity before charging.

Together, this bike and kit give a relatively light (20kg with everything fitted) electric assisted (thumb throttle only) package that rides really nicely (like an ordinary bike) but boosts you up hills without the pain. Obviously the range depends on terrain, rider weight (I am 100kg) and amount of pedalling but I find I get 15-20 miles in hilly N.Devon with frequent use of the throttle. On flat surfaces (when the throttle isn't required) the range is limited only by your capacity to pedal – I regularly do 40 miles on it.

I have an second battery with a loose connection around the fuse that cuts out from time to time but otherwise works fine. This is probably easy to fix if you know how and is included with the bike. Everything else works like new and is in very good condition.

This whole set-up cost around £1400 just under 2 years ago. I have recently purchased an electrified Brompton so no longer need this bike.

Would like to get £500 if anyone is interested.
