Finding my (electric) wheels

Hello, I am a keen cargo cyclist amongst other cycles.
Currently looking to install electric assist on my Xtracycle with which I tow a Surly long trailer. Carrying upwards of 100kg.
I am unsure whether I need a hub motor or a bb mounted motor.
Chiefly because to get up any hill I need to use the 28t inner chainring.
I wonder if anyone on here has experience of cargo bikes and towing large weights ??
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin

Thanks tommie. Point taken. I am keen to retain triple chainwheel set though. Is there no way ??

You`ll find with that torque you really won`t need any more than 8 gears, in fact i find myself double changing a lot of the time
WIth single chain ring and towing 100kg he has option of playing with chain ring size down to 38/42 and having a bigger range on the rear could go 36/11 or a bit a taller on low gear to 40/42 even.

I have a double chainring on the GSM: 42-32. If you use a wide range cassette you will be able to tow 100kg. Stopping it will be another story...

A "250 W" BPM hub motor with a 48V battery and a 25A controller would be a better solution. You keep your triple chainring and when you need it you have a 1000W helping hand in the rear wheel...
