Possibly true.
I don't know if this true, but I heard that you can run three hundred yards on a spoonful of sugar. So, assuming a bike's about 5 times more efficient, you could go about a mile on a spoonful of sugar. I would guess about 20 spoonfuls of sugar and about 10 of fat, which is also energy rich, so we're in the right sort of ball-park. I'm sure Fleec will be able to give some more precise statistics.

When Mars (Bars) sponsored one of the marathons and gave each runner one at the end it was said at the time that, that was the energy required to run a marathon :D

One pint of full cream ice cream is typically about 1400 to 1500 calories.

There's an old rule of thumb of 50 calories per cycling mile, so that 42 miles could be somewhat exaggerated.

Would have been safer expressed as a 30 mile comparison.

High Intensity Training
anyone see Horizon last night. 3 mins exercise a week better the 3-4 hrs in the gym.
Yes, interesting, but it's a technique that could cause death through a heart attack or stroke!
