Have you tried cleaning any accumulation of crud off the sensor ?

It affects all versions. There was a new firmware that was supposed to fix it sone time in 2021. If you have older firmware, it might be worth getting it updated, but there are many causes of the problem, so don't count on it.
My motor firmware version is 1.8.6.0
According to Bosh site, the last version is 1.8.6.0 for Gen2 motors. So, my motor firmware is up to date and error 510 is not resolved.

Not yet. To get to the sensor, I need to open the motor.
Somebody managed to open the gen2 motor without special tools and without damaging it? I saw one video, the guy is using special extraction tool.
Actually the motor is in this position to take it away from all the cables inside the frame.

thats my old performance motor but the same thing but when you remove the bolts holding the cover on you have to remove the cer clip or the right hand side so you can slide it over the motor axle.

that black thing at the bottom is the Torque sensor and held in plce buy a castle nut on the left hand side under a plastic cover.

it seems that Bosch torque sensor is based on variable reluctance. Have you tried to magnetically shield around the area where the torque sensor is located?

Hi,
After 4 years my CX Gen 4 bike is suddenly throwing up 510 errors which won’t clear even with Bosch battery removal & re- alignment of spoke magnet.
Sometimes the bike will assist for 15 seconds sometimes not at all. If I ride with no assist, sometimes it will cut in for a few seconds.
I also got the Purion message “Display Battery Charge”. On advice, I checked the Bosch battery terminals were clean.
Online forums say this is an Electro Magnetic Sensor issue caused by outside magnetism which was corrected in the May 2021 Firmware update.

I didn't get this update.

My question is 'why would the issue wait until now to crop up'?
