Hello all.

I'm Col from Telford Shropshire.

My new bike arrives tomorrow, I'm looking forward to using it to lose weight and for leisure rides with my dog running alongside.

Where i live is nearly 700 ft above sea level and in every direction from here it's downhill, this is great for my other hobby of amateur radio but not so good at the end of every ride when the legs are at their wobbliest.

The bike I ordered is an Alien Aurora, at 22 stone and 6ft1 I needed a strong bike to carry the weight. I'll take my chances with the law, they still point at huge shiny silver birds flying overhead around here so I cant see it being a massive issue for a while.

A suggestion: Depending upon your age, if you're serious about losing weight perhaps an 'assisted' bike isn't the way to acheive it. Maybe lower gears on a lightweight bike, and patience, would be better.
