Now this does look like a good deal, already met its reserve though (quickly). Does anybody on here have further details about the resin repair mentioned?

Some members have PM'd me about the extent of the strengthening necessary to ensure long term security of the battery mounting on this bike. This particular bike has currently no damage but experience has shown that unless some strengthening is done the inserts retaining the battery will ultimately pull out. We originally had 10 of these bikes,this is the last available. The others all sold to Pedelecs members who developed a method of repair. The problem was that the manufacturer tried to use the small screws to retain the battery to the frame,unfortunately with the battery weight loading it had a tendency to pull the inserts out of the frame. The Pedelec guys are an enterprising lot and took the battery off,injected resin into the frame and retapped larger screws into the new resin,I am told the repair worked well.
You could put a strap around the frame and that would stabilise the battery but it would look very ugly and spoil the look of a very attractive bike,it would,over time cut its way into the carbon fibre.
This particular bike has no damage to the frame but if the bike was used,especially over rough ground,the battery would start to pull away.
It was a shame,the manufacturer failed to appreciate the loads imparted by the battery,otherwise it is a very light,fast and high spec bike.

The Kudos Tourer is the workhorse of the Kudos range,it's the sort of bike thats ideal for riding to work every day,it tends to get ignored in favour of the higher spec Kudos King but it is really the better bike for touring and/or commuting.
