Motorist kills 2 cyclist on separate occasions

I know we usually highlight tragic events when they relate to cyclists but this is unbelieveable.

Not posting for any particular comment just that as it happened up my neck of the woods you might not be aware of it

The penalties certainly seem to send the wrong message. Saw a report yesterday on the attribution of blame in national cycling accidents:

68% caused by drivers.

12% caused by cyclists.

in the remaining 20%, both were held to blame.

Even on the most driver friendly reading of the combined stats, drivers are over twice as culpable as cyclists. That message needs to be sent loud and clear and universally understood.

68% drivers to blame + another 20% partially to blame.

Really not very good is it.

thats truly unbelievable - she should be done for assault, lost count of the number of times i've been knocked off bike or motorbike (luckily not so far on the ebike though i have only had it since saturday)
