New tech allows lithium batteries to charge faster, and hold charge longer

It's very easy to achieve fast charging with small cells like these phone batteries, Toshiba were fully charging small li-poly cells in under a minute a long time ago. The downside is that it doesn't translate into large cells sizes of the sort transport needs unless the cell density is greatly reduced, and therefore the range.

Cars certainly need fast charging, but I think batteries being compact with low weight, high density and long life are much more important for e-bikes. Those things mean fairly slow charging, whatever the chemistry used, but for most who charge at the end of the day, that isn't a problem.

Skeptical and with anything extra its a plus. I'd love to recharge batteries in 15 mins and have another 30 miles range. Even better for cars.

Untill then though will wait untill it reaches the retail shelfs...
