New To eBikes - London

Hello All,

Thanks for having me on the forum! I am very new to ebikes and have been reading the forums (prior to joining) and have picked up some useful info!

I am looking for a e-bike for my commute. It's roughly 8 miles each way (through London) and has one pesky hill, other than that it's pretty flat! The idea of cycling is an attractive one, but arriving sweaty isn't so an e-bike seems the perfect way to go.

I am currently trying to decide between:

1. Getting a new e-bike for my communte (Budget up to £1000)

or

1. Converting my currently bike with a converter kit for the commute. I currently have a 6KU Fixie (https://www.bricklanebikes.co.uk/6ku-complete-bike-beach-bum)

Does anyone have any advice on what would work/be better for this? Luckily I can store inside overnight and at work so not too bothered by saving space with folding bikes etc.

Just about any electric bike would do the job, so take your pick. If you can manage an unpowered fixie, power will never be an issue.

You can make a lightweight stealthy conversion using a Xiongda YTW-06 motor and a 20-cell bottle battery from Aliexpress, which will only add about 3kg to your bike. A Q100H motor is a bit more powerful and very robust, but will add another 0.7kg.
