Hi All
We are looking to buy 2 electric bikes for when Pauline and I are away on our holidays in our motorhome and we would like some of your advice.

Firstly which bikes are best within the price range of £1,500 each and what should we be looking for. We have looked at a few and like the Raleigh bikes and they do step through for Pauline and normal for me. We don't want folding bikes and only power assist ideally with a reasonable battery range.

We do have concerns on the weight of the bikes, how we can charge the batteries when in motorhome (either with EHU or 12v solar based), also the security of the bikes especially the batteries. We currently use a Kryptonite lock and thick cable to secure our normal bikes and can see how this secures the bike itself but what about the battery - is the manufacturers lock sufficient as we are reluctant to carry around with us.

Any advice or support would be really appreciated

Thanks

Keith

Bikes with the Fazua Evation system have the ability to remove the (key locked) and motor completely on some manufacturers bikes that use this system. The bike can even be ridden as a normal bike if you want. They also have the advantage of being one of the lightest motor and battery units.

Have you ever thought of converting an existing manual bike, I recently converted two Specialized Cross Trail machines for around £700 per unit. Kept our favourite machines with the benefit of electric motors.
Check out Tongsheng TSDZ2.
