Plants for a bike!

If anyone heard Gardeners' Question time on Friday they would have been intrigued, as I was, to learn that a Chinese electric bike was going to be featured. It turned out that someone had just acquired a second hand e bike complete with front basket and they were hoping they might turn the basket into a plant container and ride around with a sort of window box on the front.

I rather felt this was a leg pull but the team took the question seriously and suggested a number of possibilities!

Would the leg puller care to own up?

One of the gardening team suggested Chinese Lanterns, a plant which presumably would light the way!

Sounds like a cue for vegetable jokes. You cannot get leeks on a bicycle but you can get a swede! Not sure about car-rot though!
