Hi guys, new to the forum and most probably a frequent visitor. I'm from Devon and just this weekend picked up a converted used electric bike. Apparently it's a 1000w conversion but I've no way of know as there's no real markings on the parts.

Bike seems very good apart from not going as far as I'd like, so I want to buy a fresh new battery, but am struggling to find one like it.

This is an identical battery that I found on ebay which is a 350w 36v battery

This is the bike:

Cheers for any help.

It's called a frog battery by the Chinese, If you do a search, you'll find loads of them; however, most will not be up to the job. Your motor needs a lot of current. You need to look at your controller to see what is it's maximum current. 1000w is normally about 25 to 30 amps. Those frog batteries are rated at about 10 amps, but able to give up to 20 amps for a short time. The most suitable ones are 11.6aH and have the high-discharge Panasonic cells. There's one here:

I think that you'd be better off, chucking that arrangement and getting a decent battery. You need a 20aH 36v battery like this one:

You need to make your own enclosure, which is not difficult if you have a hard-tail. If you want details of how to do that, I can provide them, but . Total cost of rack and enclosure is about £10. Here's a couple of photos to show what I mean:

Many thanks for all that info, much appreciated.

I like that set up above, but being new to all this, if I go for the kit that you recommend over the 11.6AH Panasonic how much further distance would it give me??

Cheers
