Hugh,

"The only hitch I've encountered was a weird cutting-out when on the 21t sprocket. This seems to be due to running the 42t chainring - there's something about the exact 2:1 ration that confuses it"

It seems that it does this with the 38 - 19 set up as well. You could change the cassette for a 11-34 as this doesn't have the 21t. I'm assuming that it's a 9 speed.

BAH48,

it's 10 speed, so I'll have to check what cassette configurations are available for that. The 38-19 error makes sense though - it's that 2-1 thing again.

Cheers, Hugh

I've run a 38-18 and a 38-20 with no problems, but that is with an Alfine 11 speed hub. Now I am sure the SDX2 dongle is working fine swop back to the 18t rear sprocket.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a pre 2011 Emotion Xenion 700 with the Bosch 25 drive unit. Moving the sensor to pick up the magnets on the crank and installing a 52t chaining I can now maintain 30mph over 10miles comfortably. My next project is to install a dongle on a 45 drive unit from which I have a contact in Hungary.
