As you'll see from a previous post, i have a Proflex Animal I'm going to convert. My left leg is mostly paralysed which is why i want an eBike for exercise. I have used the front hub 8Fun kit, but it wont fit the Girvin forks. That to me meant rear hub motor, as i need the thumb throttle to get going in some situations. I read a review of the 8Fun mid drive kit and it had a thumb throttle?? So is the chain ring separate to the pedal arms on a mid drive kit then? As obviously the front chain ring needs to turn under throttle, but does that spin the pedals or not??

Crank drives are great for many reasons but they feel very different to a hub

If at all possible do try to test one. You may find it doesn't suit you as well as a hub with your leg disability.

Or you may find it vastly superior! I only mean to highlight the very different input/feel
