You need the bafang motor removal tool. You can find that from GBK site

It would be handy to have one , but i reckon' it can be done without, or possibly make something that'll do the job depending on how stubborn it is.
Just need to know which direction to turn it.

Most seem to be RH thread, but the one on Youtube is definitely LH. There's none, one or two very small grub-screws in the periphery that lock the thread.

This one had 1 grubscrew and was also LH thread.
The clunking was bearing related but not what i had imagined. The inner race had been spinning on the winding assembly (this is the large diameter bearing). I tried to peen the mount with a drift and hammer. It sort of worked but i used a small amount of locktite bearing retainer. Regreased everything and hopefully the hub will see many more miles.
