Hello! I've been lurking for while. Apart from an occasional holiday rental dalliance, I haven't really been on a bike for nigh on 30 years. After a lot of online research I recently bought a Big Bear LS, which meets all the criteria for shifting a very unfit and rapidly aging fat lass up some seriously steep hills.
I live in the Yorkshire Pennines (right on one of the hill stages of the TdF) and a 20% gradient is the norm round here, along with high winds and snow in July!
The bigger plan is to build up some level of fitness to allow me to use a normal bike eventually.
