I have had this problem on 3 separate systems and it is an easy fix. The symptoms are that the motor cuts out after an initial operation. Also the speed display goes to maximum (which is why the power is cut as it appears to exceed the maximum set).
It is caused by the speed sensor - magnet distance being too small: move the sensor or magnet further away (8-15mm) and the problem should clear.
After 25 years of fitting systems it is the first time I have had a speed sensor that didn't work at a close distance.
