    Powacycle Windsor RIP

Thank you David, I will - although it will probably be a long way down the line. I had to sell my beloved 1986 Kawasaki Ninja to buy the Windsor - now I only have a completely broken and useless Windsor to sell - there's so little left on it that works, I doubt that anyone would want it even...

    Powacycle Windsor RIP

Hi David. I'm in Dorset - thank you, but I'm going to struggle to find enough cash even for a recon bike. All our transport has decided to die at once - the car's up on Ebay for a tenner for spares after it pegged it at the weekend (we can't afford to get it fixed) and my OH just paid out...

    Powacycle Windsor RIP

Two years from initial purchase, my electric biking days have ended. In that time, I have had an entire replacement bike, 3 throttles and two motors - and now I need a third motor, 4th throttle and a new controller, which will cost me in all about £200. The battery must be due replacement soon...

    Alien Mens Special II

Have you had a reply - I'd certanly be interested in a MKII version of the Unisex model!

Another one bites the dust! :o(

Thanks - there's no junction box and all the cables go straight back to the controller. The throttle wire has been joined and taped up about a third of the way along from the throttle. Sorry it's taken so long for me to check - I don't have any lighting in the garden!

Another one bites the dust! :o(

Ah, I think the wiring was changed too - but possibly not the whole thing? I can't really check now it's dark, but I'm sure I remember seeing part of the wiring had been taped up after the throttle was changed. Maybe they didn't do a very good job of it? My only concern with just changing...

Another one bites the dust! :o(

Thanks - would there be any other symptoms for a controller fault? And how easy would it be for my LBS to check? Although they have a mechanic there that they say is knowledgable about Powacycles, I get the feeling that it's only to replace bits of it .... There's another shop nearish to...

Thank you both, I have sent a PM as suggested. Fingers crossed he can help! Thanks again! Marilyn

Another one bites the dust! :o(

Hello all, The third throttle on my Powacycle Windsor bit the dust this morning .... I hadn't even gotten around to taking the cellophane off of it. It's only survived a couple of hundred miles. I wasn't even using it at the time - I had just cycled up one of the steepest hills on my...

The stricken Windsor is back on the road

Just thought I'd report this one as it might be useful to other Powacycle riders ... My bike went in to the LBS as dead as a doornail again - turned out it was just a duff throttle. That's the second time it's happened, but I never realised because I wasn't using the throttle at the time...

    another motor bites the dust?

I do hope it's not the motor - they'll think I must be treating it really badly if it is. I do expect it to cope with everything mother nature can chuck at me, but I do more than my fair share of the effort, so I can't imagine I put the motor under that much strain.

    another motor bites the dust?

I've killed it again. The poor Windsor died after I went over a drain cover (unavoidably, but it wasn't anything spectacular) and dead it remains. That's 2 motors in a year. The LBS is going to be sooo pleased to hear from me ... (!)

Anybody Got One Of These Bikes?

The Vectrix definitely does have the feeling of a 400cc scooter - my OH has a Suzuki Burgman 400 which we could compare the ride to. The difference is that it feels lighter and turns faster - and I'd say it's faster off the block too. I was really surprised by the acceleration - not what I...

Anybody Got One Of These Bikes?

There's a Vectrix stockist around the corner from me - I begged a go on one and it was great! I couldn't go far enough to really get the feel of it, but it was much quicker than I expected and nimble. The regenerative braking was quite an eye-opener - don't know how much charging it gives you...

Make your own cycle lanes ..

The local council here have different sized cycles to paint on the road so they can have amazing shrinking or expanding cycle lanes depending on how drunk the bloke painting the broken white lines was when he meandered down the road. We have one cycle lane where it's debatable who has more road...
