another motor bites the dust?

I've killed it again. The poor Windsor died after I went over a drain cover (unavoidably, but it wasn't anything spectacular) and dead it remains. That's 2 motors in a year.

The LBS is going to be sooo pleased to hear from me ... (!)

That's odd, these Hall effect motors are usually very tough, reliable and long lasting. Maybe it's just a connection or possibly the controller failed this time.

I do hope it's not the motor - they'll think I must be treating it really badly if it is. I do expect it to cope with everything mother nature can chuck at me, but I do more than my fair share of the effort, so I can't imagine I put the motor under that much strain.

It certainly won't be your fault, it's the controller's job to provide any limitation and if it does that job, you wouldn't be able to strain the motor in any way with normal use.
