My Land's End to John O' Groat's route now plotted with GPS

I've no idea how to do that, but the route was plotted each morning just using Google maps on my iPhone in cycle mode, so I never really knew which way I was going each day. The tracking was done using an app called follow mee, on my iPhone, which recorded my position every ten minutes, so I...

Lands End to John O Groats - Unsupported

Well I did it! As far as I can tell, and unless anyone tells me otherwise, that's the first unsupported solo LEJOG on an electric bike. So happy, but sad it's all over, it was fantastic. Thanks for all the helpful comments and your interest. I'm convinced electric bikes are the future for...

Lands End to John O Groats - Unsupported

Sorry for not replying more quickly. Dave, they've given me the system they were working on in, It involves some bolt holes which are covered by the rubber pads on the top of the battery. Seems to work ok so far. The blog linked above has details of where I'll be each day. The actual route is...

Lands End to John O Groats - Unsupported

No, thanks for your concern though, I'll go nowhere near it! I ended up on a busy dual carriageway in Bristol whilst on a training ride. Not something I want to do again!!

Lands End to John O Groats - Unsupported

No emergency support, just me and the bike, completely unsupported. If the worst happens, I can get a taxi to a hotel and wait to be collected :) I have two spare batteries, and intend to travel around 80 miles a day, staying mostly at youth hostels and charging in the evenings. Youth hostels...

    Hello everyone

I think the youth hostel is right next to it. I went there as a child, it will be nice to go back, but aren't there steps? Could be interesting after a day in the saddle!

Anyone had an interesting ride recently ?

Yes, between 70 and 80 miles a day. I'm 5ft nothing, so the little dash is perfect for me. Being a folder means I can put it in a wheeled bag to get it back on the coach from Inverness.
