I've always suspected that the no throttle rule was applied to cowtow to the Moped manufacturers, in which case this loophole is very much in the spirit of the law i.e. no mass produced potential competition.
I'm really pleased about these loopholes. I was rather concerned that when my old throttle bike expires things would get difficult. I tried pedal only and just couldn't physically do it. It may be complicated but it's much less complicated than trying to get home when your legs have given out.
If you are going for the under 30s market then it is very much about style over substance. In fact it all comes down to fashion and as we can see functionality plays no part in fashion. So any E-bike that's going to take off big time is going to have to be considered cool. I think Gtech have got...
Thanks for the info. The bike is a Storm which is the pretty much the same as a Joule Micro Prism.
I can access a sub menu with a press on the power button. the options are:
1: Set outside tyre diameter to nearest inch
2:Number of speed sensors
4:Units (Km or Mile)...
Got the terminology a bit wrong. My question is actually can I tweak this LCD to up the speed by a couple of MPH. I figure the motor can do it but I can't find a way to tweak it through the LCD and was wondering if anyone familiar with these LCDs knows of a way.
My bike has a Bafang 8fun motor and this is the controller:
I can change the current and voltage settings but not sure if these are what's needed. The bike is hitting 15mph at the moment but I would prefer to set it at 17mph which I understand is still within the legal allowance. Anyone know...
The Joule bikes mentioned by the OP. Anyone know anything about them? Any opinions? They look interesting to me as I need a low centre of balance but meaty bike and throttle
My bike was stolen from a garden in Colchester last night. It is an A2B metro gen 2 all black even the battery on the back. I have never seen another in this area and when the battery runs out they have no charger. So there is a chance it may be dumped somewhere unless someone is prepared to buy...
Well that's solved for the time being, somebody stole my bike last night :( Phoned the Police who said as there are no CCTV pictures they will just close the case. Which is a shame because it is an A2B Metro, not seen in these parts apart from mine and once the batterys runs out it will be of...
That is interesting. I have come across online quotes that let you add in specific bikes but said no motorised vehicles elswhere and invariably when I have rung them they have said no to Electric bikes. Will give AA a ring, cheers.
