    Folding ebikes

All interesting info, many thanks. This is the sort of thing I need to know. Just to clarify, the 40 miles is a maximum we may, on occasion, achieve. These days I find Anno Domini and state of health, does limit me somewhat. Certainly, the Rambletta is a bike I must check, as is the Wisper...

Will certainly do that, but I will wait for the weather to improve, I am a fine weather cyclist! Thanks to everyone who has responded to this posting, your help is much appreciated.

    Folding ebikes

It is not advisable to carry bikes on a rack on the back of a caravan as it would prove detrimental to stability. Fine on a motorhome, of course. Also can not have a towbar mounted rack as that would reduce the nose weight of the caravan too much. Bikes have to go inside the mondeo. This has...

    Folding ebikes

Hi All. Been off line for some time, but finally got back here. I am now finding it difficult loading our 2 Raleigh Motus bikes into the back or our Mondeo estate when we go caravanning, so contemplating buying a couple of folders. We saw the Wisper and Roodog at the nec show last week, but...

    "Get me Home" Battery

When I had my Ezee Sprint, I made a bracket to allow me to carry a second battery. The range of this bike was approx 20 - 25 miles on one battery. Having the second one meant I could go for a reasonable ride each day. Now, with the Raliegh Motus, I find the battery good for about 50 miles...

    Home made chain oil

Paraffin wax and PTFE powder. This was suggested to me many years ago whenI had my Sprint bike. It was very heavy on chains and a cyclist I met through my work suggested this and I never had to replace the chain again.

    Wisper 705 Problems

I used to find with my 705, starting out with a fully charged battery (according to the charger) after a mile or two, it would suddenly go dead. No power to anything. Usually, if I took the battery out and then replaced it, I could get power again for another few hundred yards. That was 3 years...

Help please ebike insurance Raleigh Motus Tour hub

I have both our Raleigh Motus bikes on our house insurance. I was surprised by a quite low extra cost on the policy. I specifically asked for this in a phone call to the insurer who was happy to discuss.

Do you leave your display attached to your ebike, when leaving it locked in a public place?

I think I have commented on earlier posting about this. If we leave our Motus bikes at a supermarket, we get a trolley and put the batteries in it along with a bag for the display units. With the frames locked to bike rack, we feel we have done all we can to make them less attractive. If we...

    Another Ebike conversion kit death

I seem to remember, even Boeing got it wrong with a battery on the 787, which were all grounded shortly after entering service due to a fire with a lithium battery. Now that could have been a real disaster. But thinking about it, Boeing have a bit of a reputation fro design errors.

    Help! Commuter e-bike

We both have the Motus GT step through and hub gears, with 500wh battery and have been very pleased with them. We only use them as leisure bikes ie take them caravanning with us, but have found them adequate for us on hills. We were at Yeovil couple of years ago and it was fairly hilly around...

    disabled !!

Good on yer, Brett. Glad to hear you are starting to get out and about on your trike. I believe others on here have medical problems of some sort, that cause limitations of what we can do, but, for me, electric bikes have given me back the ability to cycle again, so that has to be good. I...

What does the trade use ...

That is what I do. But to help me lift the bike into place, I put the front wheel on an upturned box, then I do not need to take the entire weight of the bike to position it in the clamp. Even I can manage that.

A cure for rusty old tools

A good idea to use this. If you don't, then you are risking snapping off the screw.

A cure for rusty old tools

I could do with some of that.
