    i have run a powabike on 48v for approx 6 months as i had to cart my tools to work. worked fine until eventually, because of the motor running hot most of the time, the solder joints inside the motor dried out and parted.but I'm sure if you wish to keep stripping the wheel down and re soldering...

    you say the pedal came loose ? does it have a pedal sensor if so it may have dislodged the sensor and not sending any signal.

    its probably either the throttle shorting eg. broken wire or the controller . try disconnecting the throttle first.

    dont push 48v through the motor the wiring cant handle it. i know because ive tried it, it did last for a few months but eventually melted the solder in the motor. and yes they are simple brushed motor.getting a lithium will make the bike lighter so hopfully a little easier to peddle.the problem...

    Something I have been saying for a long time. a circuit breaker or residual currant device. As with so many things these days its treating the symptom and not the cause. I hope the eng. lit. police will excuse any errors as I was dyslectic before it was even invented.
