8 fun kit died last night on way home :(

Hi KirstinS I purchased one of these kits two years ago and though I didn't keep it long I know it is still going okay because I gave the kit to my sister after purchasing a Tonaro. I know this is only one other persons use but I thinks it is probably worth knowing other peoples kits are still...

    The Tonaro`s weakest part/point..............

Hi Mike, The drive system on the Tonaro bikes was "upgraded" to make the crank assembly easier to access. The previous version, as on your bike, required special tools to remove the one way bearing at the back of the assembly. The new version used a splined bearing which could be held in place...

    Bighit battery querie

Hi adifrank, with regard to the motor cutting out every now and then even when charged up try removing the magnet off the rear wheel the problem you have has been spoken about several times on this forum. In most cases taking the magnet off the rear wheel fixes the cutouts.

I have a Tonaro and the best I have achieved is 68 miles with power level set to the lowest level though I did use high power on a couple of long hills.

    Tonaro,simply the best

In order to get a patent you have to be able to show that the design is unique in some way I accept the company may have taken inspiration from the Yamaha crank motor but so what just look at the proliferation of different hub motors out there are they not all basically similar.

    A Crank Call

Eddie I don't think you are correct in what you are saying, if memory serves me right it was the Yamaha that people were referrring to when they said it was more like a moped not the Tonaro.

Thinking of buying my first e bike, Wisper or Juicybike, any advice please?

Hi Sarah, It may be worth including the Tonaro range of bikes they are about the same price and I have to say they are excellent hill climbers.

    Tonaro esprit -quick update

Hi Mike not to worry just glad the Compy is going okay now, my Compy did exactly the same and as it happens the first thing I tried, taking the magnet off cured it for me so I thought it may be the same thing on Steve's bike. The symptoms sounded exactly the same.

A simple thing to try, ride the bike without the magnet on the back wheel.

What is better,Shimano derailleur external gears or Shimano Nexus hub gears.

I agree with EddieO on this I know people keep saying derailleur gears need constant adjustment but to be honest I have not found this if they are set up carefully and correctly to start with. I use an LX derailleur and the changes are light, fast and almost noiseless. I am in agreement with...
