Gas is more plentiful and easier to store. More profit. They will mine hydrogen when the legislation stops them sell gas.
In France, there are 9 million families keeping chickens in their garden. Government now forbids them to eat their home produced eggs because of pollution in the cities. The chickens eats worms, the worms eat compost, compost comes from the city's refuse. It is not just eggs, home produced vegetables too. Sometimes you need laws to get people do the right things to stop pollution.

Sorry to hear about your gas problem, maybe you need more eggs & chicken in your diet?
I hope they keep their chickens safe from the Urban Foxes feeding on the garbage left because the Gov isn't doing their job right and Collecting it in a Timely fashion.
We're told LEZ & ULEZ eliminated the rest of it, and Gov Hot Air remained the last major source of pollution in cities?

I don't have town gas. For heating, I have a heat pump and underfloor heating.

I remember seeing one of those in my street when the local council were resurfacing the road. It was pretty much exactly like that and pouring smoke out of the stack. This would be about 1954 or 1955. It was used to tow a load of gravel and stuff like that.
