Hi all, (3 year old) Bafang bbs02 not turning on

I have checked the green 5 pin connection. From the controller to the display and there is 54.4v between P+ and ground so I think it must be something to do with the display ?

P850c display with separate power +/- button on the handlebar

Just disconnected everything and reconnected and is working ok !

And stopped working, ok I will order a new display, seems to have voltage from the controller to the green 5 pin display connection

Has your wiring harness been damaged a little? It's why I ziptie over plastic webbing to the bike frame, rather than directly, avoids pinching cables risking damage to fine wires within the things.

When you get your new one, it might be worth opening the old one to see what was wrong - pulled wire, water ingress, bad solder or whatever.

Instructions for opening and one fix here:

Thanks, I will take a look. You can buy the "handlebar mounted power +/- button pad" separately. I ordered the display and button pad but I will try just the new button pad to see if that was the problem. If it is I have a display spare !

This was the culprit, think there must have been a problem with the wiring inside the cable

Probably irrelevant, but worth 3 seconds of thought.
I have rare intermittent issues with the equivalent side button on my old Bosch with Intuvia display;
such as pressing '-' on the side button makes the assist level go up.
The problem is not with the side button itself, but the poorly designed contacts on the Intuvia display mount.

Just push and wiggle the Intuvia display almost always fixes it. If not, a quick wipe of the contacts always has so far.
