After three runs with a different controller and with all other components the same there has been no replication of the fault. I'm calling this as a software issue with the KT controllers.
More like an imagination issue. I've used more than 10 different KT controllers over 10 years and never had any issues.

Perhaps some factories have responded to KT controllers being used at high speed, by tinkering with firmware? Is there some way to read firmware version details? Does sound like highly undesirable behaviour, glad my BBS01B mid-drive doesn't suffer from that at all.

It is unlikely that the firmware would remain the same over time. C15 parameter has been added, who knows what else. If it has never been tested for this sort of behaviour it is doubtful they are even aware of it. It is relatively easy to program something to do what you want. The hard part is stopping it doing something that you didn't expect.

There is no C15 on this system.
I can definitely report that in order to get smooth and timely power pick up after a descent I need to either:
Not pedal at above cut off speed on the descent and be careful not to pedal until speed drops to 15.5
OR
Switch pas off during descent and not switch on again until speed comes down to 15.5.

If pedalling continues with pas on but brake is feathered then power pick up is delayed.

This is not imagination. I have now been caught out at too many first steep rises from valley bottoms. Steep enough that I can't get through the gears fast enough to keep any forward motion, so I am having to learn to manage the system.

On the flat the system behaves as you would expect, cutting in and out at around 16. Can't be definitive here but it seems that hitting a down slope and going above around 20 will trigger the delay. But, if the next bit is flat or gentle upslope then the power delay is not a egregious.

Saneagle, we have a guest room. You are welcome to come and stay for a couple of nights, I would love to get your brain on this. Bring your bike and I'll take you on some of the more technical rides I do that demonstrate the issue. You can even ridr the bike yourself.

Valuable insight, research and experience which might be worth highlighting in a thread with a title that draws attention to it. Will appear better in search for future sufferers!
